Injection and blow molder K&C Plastics Inc. is expanding its pet product line.
Leominster, Mass.-based K&C had offered a few pet products but is now producing pet cages and litter boxes, according to Paul Schiavitti, director of business development.
“We like the size of the market. It is a growing market and most pet owners have strong emotional tie to their pet,” he said.
Schiavitti said K&C does both custom and proprietary products. It makes pet feeders, as well as sporting goods and housewares. To address the new initiative, the company has added new molds and is looking to expand its sales representative force.
The company is headquartered in a 30,000-square-foot building in Leominster and also has another 100,000 square feet of space in Fitchburg. It operates 25 injection molding machines ranging from 300 to 1,200 tons of clamping force.
The company has five blow molding machines.
K&C was started 30 years ago by its president, Kirt Wilbur.
