MCG Industries, a South African provider of plastic transport packaging serving the beverage, brewing and dairy industries, has purchased three large-tonnage MX 1000-17200 injection molding machines from KraussMaffei Group of Munich.
The presses can run the large parts on two-cavity molds.
According to KraussMaffei, the transport packaging manufacturers in South Africa are experiencing cost pressure, mainly increasing resin prices and fixed costs, such as those for wages and energy.
The mold-maker was Schoeller Allibert.
KraussMaffei's U.S. headquarters, KraussMaffei Corp., is in Florence, Ky.
