DSM Engineering Plastics Inc. is expanding in Troy, Mich., to create a new engineering and applications development center.
The $2.4 million investment, supported by a $250,000 Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant, is expected to create 33 jobs.
As a result, the subsidiary of Netherlands-based Royal DSM will lease additional space at its U.S. headquarters, the Michigan Economic Development Corp. said in a news release.
The memo stated that DSM could have expanded near its manufacturing plant in Evansville, Ind., but the additional grants helped sway the company to expand locally.
