Chinese plastics compounder Jinyoung (Xiamen) Industrial is targeting European markets and has plans to expand its processing capacity in China.
Jinyoung of Xiamen in China's Fujian province last year started exporting to European markets. Its first customer for ready-to-use materials was an unnamed home appliance manufacturer in Slovenia, the firm reported.
The Chinese company has also been in discussion with a potential European distribution partner. It has confirmed that it is currently negotiating with a Polish compounder to distribute its product range in the region.
Jinyoung, which is focusing on product and technology innovation with new polymers, operates 10 Berstorff extrusion lines producing a range of modified polymers, primarily engineering plastics such as nylon, polycarbonate, polypropylene, POM and ABS.
Innovative products it has developed and supplies include high barrier and plated nylon, thermally conductive nylon, spray-free PBT and low odor PP.
Polymers supplied by Jinyoung have been used widely in a variety of applications including in the aviation, automotive, high-speed trains, household appliances, electronics and military supplies sectors, according to the company.
Later this year, the Chinese compounder is planning to expand its output, doubling its overall capacity. It is reported to be aiming to compete with China's second ranked compounds producer China XD Plastics.
In particular the Xiamen-based firm expects to extend its range of high performance thermoplastics like liquid crystal polymer (LCP) and PPS (polyphenylene sulphide).
