Symphony Environmental Technologies has announced a three-year contract with Pakistan International Airways (PIA) to convert the airline's normal plastic packaging into its d2w biodegradable plastic.
After signing the agreement with Symphony's distributor Business Dynamics, the airline is now believed to be the first to convert all of its flexible plastics to d2w oxo-biodegradable technology, earning it certification as a zero pollution airline by the country's Environmental Protection Agency.
Symphony chief executive Michael Laurier, of said, "We are delighted that PIA have chosen to use d2w oxo-biodegradable plastic technology in their commitment to help protect the environment from accidental littering of plastic, and congratulate them in leading by example.”
In its last financial results in April, Symphony posted a 2.31 million pound ($3.3 million) pre-tax lossbut insisted it remained positive for 2016.
