Custom Roto-Mold LLC of Benson, Minn., and the Center for Advanced Design have partnered to offer a new way to design and develop rotomolded products, called ProtoRoto.
CAD is based in Elk River, Minn.
“We were able to test 10 actual parts molded from production material at production temperatures,” said Tim Davis of Sign-Posts Inc. “The ProtoRoto tools were ready in one-third the time and one-third the cost of production tools.” He said the product also gave his company the ability to optimize the design before committing to production tooling.
The company's name for the prototypes? Rototypes!
