Battenfeld-Cincinnati Extrusion Holding GmbH is celebrating 20 years of local production in China.
The company said the milestone for Battenfeld-Cincinnati (Foshan) Extrusion Systems Ltd. shows its “technology leadership and market acceptance” in China.
“On the one hand, our engineers here in China benefit from strong group backing — and on the other hand, from the concentrated extrusion competence of our facilities in Europe as well as in the USA. Thanks to this, they can design customized equipment for local needs”, said Toni Bernards, CEO of Battenfeld-Cincinnati China.
Today, Battenfeld-Cincinnati China has 130 employees and contributes about 25 percent to its parent company's global sales. Sales growth reached 20 percent last year. Nearly half of its production (45 percent) in China is exported, mainly to Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand.
Some 90 percent of the company's domestic customers in China are small processors, and 10 percent are global companies, according to the Bad Oeynhausen, Germany-based firm.
The company said its portfolio has evolved to encompass both high-end pipe production lines (solEx, twinEx, FDC) and mid-market solutions such as the LeanEx series.
In addition, the company said it sees potential for its thermoforming sheet production equipment in China. Several high-output Multi-Touch lines have been installed in Asia, it said.
“We accept the market challenges and continuously develop our equipment. With our growing service team we are in constant touch with our customers, too, because proximity to the customer is immensely important for us,” Bernards added.
