Aurora, Ill. — Processing Technologies International LLC broke ground on Aug. 5 on a $10 million expansion at its Aurora headquarters plant.
The project, which the company disclosed in late 2015, will increase overall plant capacity 50 percent and add 40,000 square feet of manufacturing and office space for the global manufacturer of high-performance sheet extrusion machinery.
PTi will highlight its growth and new capabilities at K 2016 (Hall 13/B91-10), which runs Oct. 19-26 in Düsseldorf, Germany.
The company plans to add 40 jobs.
“Our business has hit record levels the last several years and our products are being well received throughout the packaging markets in North America,” said Dana Hanson, PTi president, in a news release. “We are planning for a sustained period of growth that will require expanded manufacturing resources.”
The new space will include a dedicated feed screw testing and development center, an expansion of a dryer-less twin-screw sheet extrusion demonstration center, and a larger technology development center. The new space is scheduled to be complete by November 2016.
PTi currently has about 80 employees and 60,000 square feet of manufacturing space.
