Brazil's Feiplastic, a trade show promoted by the country's lead plastics industry association Abiplast, announced Aug. 17 a new location for 2017.
Feiplastic 2017, scheduled for April 4-7, will be held at São Paulo's Expo Center Norte, a more modern and convenient venue for exhibitors and visitors than Anhembi expo center, where the trade show used to take place, according to the organizers.
“We chose the venue based on decisions and discussions with all our partners and supporters,” said Alexandre Telles, director of events at Reed Exhibitions Alcantara Machado.
He said 50 percent of the 2017 exhibit space is sold, and that major resin supplier Braskem is a key partner. About 20 other local plastics industry associations are supporting the event.
Brazil's machinery industry association Abimaq announced last year it will promote a new trade show, Plástico Brasil, because of frustration with Feiplastic's location, costs, logistics and organizers. Brazil's chemical industry association Abiquim is co-promoting Plástico Brasil, and Informa Group Brazil is the organizer.
Plástico Brasil, scheduled for March 20-24 in the new São Paulo Expo convention center, won support of the European plastics machinery trade association Euromap, and other Brazilian and international industry associations. It has 100 exhibitors confirmed, including the Brazilian injection molding machinery group Indústrias Romi SA, which is its major sponsor. The organizer said Aug. 18 that it expects to have 400 exhibitors.
