PlastiCert Inc., an injection molder and mold maker in Lewiston, Minn., has won the 2016 When Work Works Award at the Winona Area Chamber of Commerce annual Business Appreciation Awards Banquet. The award recognizes excellence in workplace effectiveness and flexibility.
The company also won a When Work Works award in 2014, said Craig Porter, PlastiCert's president and owner. “We still learned a great deal about ourselves and implemented additional improvements based on the national results we were provided,” he said. “We were confident the improvements we made would help keep us at the forefront of progressive companies.”
Porter said PlastiCert's employees are the key to the success of the company. “Recognizing that their focus can shift between work and home, and being able to help them navigate that, makes the organization all the more resilient and effective.”
The 2016 When Work Works Award, presented by the Families and Work Institute and the Society for Human Resource Management, which recognizes 351 employers across the United States. Very few recipients are manufacturing companies, according to PlastiCert officials.
