Wittmann Battenfeld Inc. has added a demonstration clean room at its headquarters in Torrington, Conn.
The 672-square-foot clean room will house two Wittmann Battenfeld injection molding machines — an all-electric EcoPower SE 110/350 in a special clean room edition, and a MicroPower 15/10 micromolding machine. Other equipment, including a W821 robot, also will be in the room.
Markus Klaus, injection molding division manager, said the new clean room will be shown in operation for the first time at Wittmann Battenfeld's Innovations Workshop and Open House, Oct. 5-6 in Torrington.
The all-electric EcoPower and MicroPower presses do not have any hydraulic components, and any parts that have lubrication are fully contained. Also, the MicroPower can be supplied with a clean room module, making the press its own self-contained clean room.
Christian Glueck, Wittmann Battenfeld's technical center manager and trainer, will lead molding operations for the new clean room demonstration facility.
