Avon Lake, Ohio-based materials giant PolyOne Corp. said it has named James N. Sloan as vice president and treasurer.
Sloan will be responsible “for all aspects of the company's capital structure, cash management, insurance and capital markets transactions, as well as leading the internal financial planning and analysis function,” PolyOne said in an Aug. 29 news release.
He replaces Scott J. Leffler, who PolyOne said has accepted a chief financial officer position with another company it did not identify. Leffler was named PolyOne's treasurer in March 2015.
Since joining PolyOne in 2009, Sloan has been the assistant corporate controller, finance director for PolyOne Distribution, and, most recently, the finance director for the Designed Structures and Solutions business unit,
Sloan previously worked at Ernst & Young LLP and Aleris Corp. He holds a bachelor's degree in accountancy from Ohio State University and is a certified public accountant.
"James has demonstrated the financial acumen, analysis and decision-making required to lead our treasury function and collaborate internally and externally with our banks and other financial stakeholders," said Bradley C. Richardson, PolyOne's executive vice president and chief financial officer, in a statement.
