Tekni-Plex Inc. is combining its aerosol and pump dispensing manufacturing under the Action Technology brand name.
The Wayne, Pa.-based firm no longer will use the American Gasket and Rubber (AGR) brand, which has been in place for more than 70 years. The Action Technology brand itself has been in use for 40 years.
“We know that AGR has an excellent reputation and a long-standing history,” Action Technology Vice President and General Manager Jim Carosella said in a news release. “However, because we serve a growing global customer base, we felt that it was important to make it easier to do business with us, regardless of geographic location.”
Tekni-Plex officials said that Action Technology is a global leader in punched and molded rubber and plastic gaskets, as well as wound and precut dip tubing, for aerosol and pump dispensing products. The company sells billions of punched rubber and plastic gaskets annually. Its components are used to dispense thousands of food/beverage, pharmaceutical, personal care, industrial and household products worldwide.
Action Technology has five manufacturing plants in the U.S., Belgium, Italy and China, as well as a contract manufacturing location in Argentina. “Our international production capability means that brand owners — and ultimately consumers — can benefit from consistent dispensing performance regardless of geographic location,” Carosella said.
The branding move continues a busy year for Tekni-Plex. In March, the firm — which makes packaging materials, medical compounds and tubing — bought liner maker Sancap Liner Technology Inc. of Alliance, Ohio. That deal was the third liner acquisition made by Tekni-Plex in 18 months.
In May, Tekni-Plex announced plans to combine its closure liner business under the Tri-Seal brand name. In total, Tekni-Plex operates 29 plants worldwide.
