Wittmann Battenfeld USA is hosting a two-day celebration Oct. 5-6 in Torrington, Conn., of its new material handling and auxiliaries building with a series of presentations and displays with more than 20 of its closest partners.
Wittmann Battenfeld's open house and innovations workshop will feature eight operating injection molding work cells showcasing Wittmann Battenfeld's wide range of machines. It will also focus on the latest advancements in Industry 4.0, showing Wittmann's 4.0.
“Our Open House and Innovations Workshops have been fantastic events in the past for us and we're extremely excited about our upcoming one,” said David Preusse, president of Wittmann Battenfeld USA in a news release.
“We think we are presenting ideas and technologies that are at the cutting edge of the industry, and we believe that everyone who attends will leave in agreement with us on that,” he added.
Among the cells will be a MacroPower 850/8800 two-platen hydraulic molding machine producing a 1280 millimeter automotive spoiler. The mold will feature 5 servo-valve gates and several cavity pressure sensors. It will be equipped with Wittmann 4.0, complete HiQ packages, an integrated Gammaflux hotrunner control, FlowCon Plus automatic water flow control, a W843 robot with A/C servo, and an indexing conveyor with R8.3 controls.
Another cell will have special clean room EcoPower 110/350 SE machine using an Incoe mold featuring a W823 clean room robot and a Gammaflux hotrunner controller. It will use Wittmann 4.0 to mold pipettes.
A MicroPower 15/10 will use a mold from M.R. Mold to produce 2 mm tear duct plugs with liquid silicone rubber.
Other cells will do over-molding and micro molding. Each will feature integrated robots and auxiliary equipment.
Wittmann Battenfeld's material handling and auxiliary equipment will be displayed and demonstrated in the company's new 50,000 square foot building. It will include a Gravilog blender networking, frequency driven central dryers, improved modular drying hopper design and a new GMax hybrid granulator.
