Pont Canavese, Italy — More than 120 employees at Italian injection press maker Sandretto SpA are still no nearer to learning the future of the company after they arrived at the locked gates of the stricken factory.
The Piedmont-based company had announced in July its intent to put the company into liquidation
According to local reports, no agreement has yet been reached with the Piedmont Region and the unions on the possibility of establishing a cooperative of the 124 workers at Pont Canavese, near Turin, with owners Photonike Capital SA.
In addition, dismissal letters have not yet arrived for the workers, who are looking to define the dismissal procedure according to the criteria established by law.
The dismissal procedure could last as long as November.
Belgium-based Photonike took over Sandretto from Romi Brasil in 2013.
