Engineering resins distributor PolySource LLC has acquired a stake in Mexican distribution firm Resinal de México S de RL de CV, and has formed a three-way partnership with Resinal and U.S. compounder Omni Plastics Inc.
The partnership will serve the Mexican plastics market, officials said in a Sept. 20 news release. “As all three companies look toward strong growth in Mexico, it became apparent that the best way to accomplish this growth was together as a team,” PolySource President and CEO Greg Jacobson added.
“This partnership now provides Resinal de México with a world class portfolio of products and application development expertise to bring to our customer base,” said Resinal executive Fernando Gonzalez, who is director general of the new business.
Resinal is based in Mexico City and distributes engineering resins and compounds with a focus on the auto industry. The firm has warehouses in Mexico City, Querétaro, Monterrey and Laredo. “Our impressive list of automotive approvals will be a key component to our future growth,” Gonzalez said.
Kansas City-based PolySource represents several engineering resin makers, including Radici Group and Polyplastics. Omni is based in Evansville, Ind., and makes compounds based on polypropylene and several engineering resins for automotive and other markets.
“This partnership will expand the Resinal de México line card and support customers with key technical and product knowledge,” Omni President and CEO Bill Veith said.
