Container supplier Berlin Packaging LLC is striking a deal to acquire Italy-based Bruni Glass, a move the company said will “extend its footprint into key European markets” for its full line of products, including plastic packaging and closures.
Chicago-based Berlin Packaging said the deal will increase sales this year to more than $1.2 billion through the combined company. Bruni adds more than $150 million to that total.
"Combining Berlin and Bruni is an important building block in our quest to be the strongest, broadest, and most customer-centric packaging supplier in the market," said Andrew Berlin, chairman and CEO of Berlin Packaging, in a statement.
Berlin Packaging supplies plastic, glass and metal containers and closures.
Terms of the deal, expected to close within 45 days, were not disclosed.
