ProAmpac, itself the subject of a purchase announced Oct. 17, is doing a little wheeling and dealing on its own with the acquisition of Vitex Packaging Group.
Vitex is a Suffolk, Va.-based converter and printer of flexible packaging materials. Specialties include laminates and paper printing and converting, the company said.
“We continue to invest in opportunities that deliver an even greater array of quality products, innovation, and outstanding customer service to the marketplace,” said ProAmpac CEO Greg Tucker in a statement.
Vitex gets to keep its brand name and will fold into ProAmpac's Extrusion Lamination Division. “Vitex Packaging is known for their operational excellence, and we plan on leveraging that expertise across ProAmpac,” said Rita Cox, president of the division, in a statement.
The Oct. 18 announcement of this deal follows by just one day news that the Pritzker Group of Chicago is acquiring ProAmpac and its 18 manufacturing sites as the investment firm moves into flexible packaging.
That deal for Cincinnati-based is expected to close in November. Terms of that deal were not disclosed, but Pritzker indicated unnamed co-investors and members of management also will have stakes in ProAmpac.
