Canadian automotive supplier and mold maker M.I. Integration has opened its second facility in Mexico.
Both facilities are located in San Luis Potosí. Construction of the new facility, called M.I. Moldes, was completed in September, roughly five years after the establishment of the first plant, a company news release indicates.
“San Luis Potosí is a strategic, geographical location; GM, is currently situated here, and by the end of 2018, both Ford & BMW are planning to establish themselves in the area,” said Vincent Houle, vice president of strategy and client relations, in a statement. “The infrastructures are in place, well developed, and most of our partners are located within a radius of a two to four hour drive.”
The new facility provides a new service center in addition to supporting the existing plastic injection site, called M.I. Integración. M.I. Integration also operates two plants in Quebec.
M.I. Integration plans to launch the new plant Dec. 1 with an open house.
