Düsseldorf, Germany — Spanish materials company Elix Polymers focused on its growth into the U.S. and Mexico along with its reach into new market areas at its first K show.
The company, which launched a new warehouse in Edison, N.J., in September, said at K 2016 that global expansion was key to the business, with three new hires in the U.S. in the last year and one account manager newly employed in Mexico.
Elix, which already has a warehouse in Flint, Mich., was keen to point out that although it is only introducing commercial teams in the U.S. and Mexico now, this will hopefully grow. Carlos Mueller, business director, said that although production will currently take place in Spain and will be distributed by a partner, in the future Elix plans to partner with a company to compound in the U.S. and said it first wanted to develop a sound customer base. Mueller added that the same was also true of Asia but on a longer time scale.
In Mexico, Mueller said that the company would start with one person but may hire more in the future. He said there is much development in Mexico and that this is nearly into double digits for Elix products.
