Cincinnati — Automated Machine Systems Inc., the specialty machine builder and systems integrator, has added 6,000 feet of manufacturing space at its Cincinnati headquarters.
Officials of AMS, which currently has 10,000 square feet, are spending $40,000 to upgrade the existing space, next to the company's headquarters building. AMS will complete the project in January.
AMS makes specialty equipment for plastic joining, precision fastening, leak testing and clip installation for the automotive, medical, consumer and appliance industries. The company works with customers to design, build, install and test the production systems. AMS also can integrate robotics into a variety of plastic assembly processes, including ultrasonic welding, spot welding, heat staking or precision fastening.
“The expansion will enable us to produce new, larger equipment in our core areas and add gas leak testing systems to our product line,” AMS President Guy O'Gara said. “This positions us to continue our rapid growth in the years ahead.”
The new facility will have diamond-sanded floors painted with three-part epoxy, high-efficiency lighting and an elevated ceiling.
