Visine might get the red out, but Envision Plastics says it gets the stank out.
The maker of recycled and custom compounded post-consumer resins has now shipped more than 5 million pounds of its Deodorized Resin.
The high density polyethylene is cleaned through a proprietary process and is available in natural and mixed color applications, the division of Consolidated Container Co. said.
“To put it plainly, we take the smell out. Our patented process takes post-consumer plastic and reduces the odor to a level such that the revitalized resin can be used in a variety of scent sensitive applications,” said Mark Shafer, general manager of Envision Plastics, in a statement.
Jack McCoy, as plant manager for Engineered Plastic Components, knows all about stinky recycled plastic.
“Our issue with using post-consumer resin in the past was the smell. But Envision Plastics has provided us with a sustainable solution for our high quality automotive products through their Deodorized Resin. Caring about the environment is important, and using a recycled product that can be recycled again shows our customers that we are making the effort to be part of the solution,” he said in a statement.
