Plastic products distributor Curbell Plastics Inc. has added another site in southern California.
Curbell purchased Plastics & Metals Enterprises, doing business as Cal Plastics & Metals Inc., in Chula Vista in December.
In July, Curbell said it acquired full-service custom plastics fabricator M&M Plastics Inc. in San Diego. No terms were disclosed in either transaction.
About 25 miles separate the facilities of Cal Plastics & Metals and M&M Plastics, each now operating as a Curbell division.
Among its fabrication services, Cal Plastics & Metals can flame-polish acrylic, create floor and counter podiums, produce polycarbonate displays and customize aquariums. Other lines include point-of-purchase displays, personalized computer cases, plastic bins and metal products.
In addition to Chula Vista, the firm established Cal Plastics & Metals de México in Tijuana.
Plastics & Metals Enterprises was incorporated in California in 1998 and lists George Espinosa as the registered agent. Graphiq Inc.'s InsideGov government research website said the minority-owned contractor supplied the Navy with plastics fabricated materials, hose and flexible tubing and nonferrous base metal under four contracts with a total value of $30,953 from 2006-2012.
In addition to the two Southern California divisions, privately held Curbell of Orchard Park, N.Y., distributes polymer materials through 17 locations in 13 states. Curbell supplies plastic sheet, rod, film and tube for commercial and industrial markets. Curbell withholds sales data.
In a statement, Curbell President Gerry Helbig said the two divisions increase the firm's plastics inventory in the region and can shorten lead times for deliveries to West Coast customers.
