Chanhassen, Minn.-based insulation wholesaler IDI Distributors acquired Kevin Distributing Inc., which sells polyurethane spray foam insulation and equipment, to expand the product lines and services of both companies and IDI's geographic reach in the West.
Terms of the deal weren't disclosed.
Founded in 1979, IDI is a family owned and operated business that offers spray foam, fiberglass and cellulose insulation for residential and commercial applications. The business has 43 locations mostly in the midwestern and eastern U.S., while KDI, based in Shelby, Mont., was focused on the western U.S. and Canada.
IDI will operate KDI as a new division led by KDI Branch Manager Dan Bitney.
“We are thrilled to have KDI's management team join the IDI family and for IDI to expand our presence in the mountain states, which will be a new market for us,” IDI President Joe Novogratz said.
KDI's customers will be offered the full portfolio of IDI insulation products but Novogratz said, “Of course, KDI's commitment to spray foam, SPF equipment and market leading customer service will not change.”
