Martin Pugh will retire March 1 after a career of almost 40 years in the plastics and chemicals industries.
Pugh currently serves as executive vice president and chief operating officer of Berwyn, Pa.-based Trinseo, a materials firm whose plastics products include styrenic polymers and polycarbonate.
“Martin is a trusted business executive, a respected industry leader, and a friend,” president and CEO Chris Pappas said in a Jan. 19 news release. “In his four years with Trinseo, he has truly made his mark by propelling the company's evolution and growth to become the successful enterprise it is today.”
Pappas added that Pugh's “wisdom, strategic insights and leadership excellence will be missed by Trinseo colleagues and customers alike, and we wish him all the best in his retirement.”
Pugh joined Trinseo — then known as Styron — in 2013 as senior vice president and business president for plastics. He later served the firm as SVP and business president for Performance Materials. Prior to joining Trinseo, Pugh held leadership roles in Styrolution Group GmbH, Ineos Nova, Nova Chemicals, and Dow Chemical Co., working in the U.K., Dubai, Sweden and Switzerland.
Trinseo employs more than 2,200 at 15 global sites. The firm posted sales of around $4 billion in 2015.
