Response Packaging is spending millions of dollars on an expansion that will create 100 new jobs in South Carolina.
A $5 million project at on existing company location in Greenville County will increase both capacity and capabilities at the reusable packaging company to help serve the automotive industry, according to the South Carolina Department of Commerce.
“We feel that this expansion will differentiate us as a supplier in an evolving industry and position us for continued market share growth,” Response CEO Brett Kraeling said in a statement.
Commerce Secretary Bobby Hitt called the project “a big win for the Upstate” in a statement.
Response is based near Greenville and has other locations in Auburn Hills, Mich., Dallas and León, Mexico.
Products include returnable dunnage, shipping racks, bulk containers and sleeve packs, and injection molded and custom totes.
The company already is hiring new workers, and that will continue as production capacity increases, the state said.
