Wilsonart Engineered Services is acquiring manufacturing assets in Oxford, Miss., from Roseburg Forest Products.
Austin, Texas-based Wilsonart said in a Feb. 7 news release that the Oxford facility produces thermally fused melamine panels.
“The Oxford facility is a logical extension of Wilsonart's state-of-the-art manufacturing operations in North America and will provide our customers greater access to the best-matched TFL panels that are part of Wilsonart's Coordinated Surfaces program,” said Ron Obertini, Wilsonart vice president, product management, in a statement.
Wilsonart launched its Coordinated Surfaces program in 2014 to provide a suite of options including high pressure laminate, TFL panels and edgebanding featuring Wilsonart designs and textured finishes. It serves the furniture, office and retail markets.
Neither company responded to requests for further details.
The Oxford Eagle newspaper reported that the Oxford plant was making TFL panels for high-end furniture but closed in December 2015 after losing a key customer.
