Polymeric Labels Ltd. is investing $1.5 million in new equipment to open the company's first location in the United States.
Long-time employee Greg Marlor will manage the new facility in Lawrence, Kan., that's expected to open this spring.
“This is a major commitment to the future of Polymeric Labels. It's been a long time coming and we're excited to serve customers across two continents. Our investment in new equipment, staff and facilities shows we're committed, as always, to outstanding customer service and the delivery of a brilliant product,” Marlor said in a statement.
The company signed a six-year lease on a 14,000-square-foot facility that will “service Polymeric Label's expanding American market penetration,” the firm said in a statement.
Polymeric Labels, founded in 1986, makes printed polymer labels for the rubber and plastics industries. Applications include hoses, tires, belts, clothing, rubber mats and sporting goods.
The company said the new U.S. facility will offer the same services as its existing location in Oldham, England.
