The American Mold Builders Association has created a new, annual award to recognize members that are making strides in the area of education.
The winner of the AMBA Tooling Trailblazer of the Year Award, either for a single company or a collaborative effort, will receive a $5,000 scholarship to be utilized in support of the educational institution or program of its choice, according to Indianapolis-based AMBA. The award is sponsored by Progressive Components of Wauconda, Ill.
“Progressive Components is proud to sponsor such an important award that provides support to the future sustainability of the mold manufacturing industry,” said Progressive President Glenn Starkey, in a news release.
AMBA already provides national scholarship awards to students in industry-related fields of study, and in 2017 will increase funding directed for educational outreach, the association announced.
The AMBA Tooling Trailblazer of the Year Award winner will be announced at the 2017 AMBA annual conference, May 10-12 in Cleveland, along with the AMBA Mold Builder of the Year Award winner. Nomination forms can be found on the association's website. The deadline to submit a nomination is March 31.
