Chesterfield, Mo. — Pretium Packaging LLC is closing its factory in Seymour, Ind., and will lay off its 55 employees.
Pretium filed a WARN notice with the state of Indiana on March 30. All employees in Seymour will be laid off in three stages, beginning in May and ending in September. The plant is non-union, the company said in the WARN letter.
The Chesterfield-based maker of rigid plastic containers, closures and PET preforms issued a statement: "After an intense yearlong analysis, in order to improve our effectiveness for our customers and ensure we remain cost-competitive, we felt it necessary to consolidate our business across the many other Pretium sites."
Pretium will provide severance benefits to laid-off workers.
