Husky Injection Molding Systems Ltd. earned the Ringier Technology Innovation Award for its recently introduced HyperSync system, which the Bolton, Ontario-based machinery manufacturer claims is the industry's first fully integrated system for making specialty closures, built to work together to synchronize mold and machine processes, performance and speed.
Husky officials were presented the award at a March 9 awards ceremony in Shanghai. The Ringier award recognized HyperSync for increasing productivity, improving product performance and effectiveness and creating unique market opportunities.
HyperSync, combined with intelligent features and networking capabilities highlighting Industry 4.0-level connectivity, delivers faster cycle times at a lower total part cost, with no impact on product quality, according to Husky.
Husky introduced HyperSync at K 2016, with KTW tooling and eIMC in-mold closing technology.
HyperSync was designed to support Husky's tooling focus in specialty closures, packaging and medical, but over time, officials said the company plans to expand the synchronization technology in other markets.
Ringier Trade Media Ltd.'s International Packaging News for China, a trade magazine, presented the Technology Innovation Awards.
