Illig Maschinenbau GmbH Co. KG, of Heilbronn, Germany, will showcase its thermoforming packaging systems at the Interpack trade show, May 4-10 in Düsseldorf, Germany.
Experts will demonstrate the company's technology for in-mold thermoforming, combined with clean and hygienic filling and packaging of dairy products. Illig will demonstrate the forming of rectangular cups from polypropylene on the in-mold labeling line IC-RDM 70K, with a forming area of 680 millimeters by 300 millimeters, as well as the compact IML unit RDML 70b.
The 18-up mold turns out cups with three different labels—with an hourly output of 17,280 cups. The photo-quality labels cover all four side walls, and also the bottom, directly during forming.
