U.S. converting equipment supplier CMD Corp. has acquired Caslano, Switzerland-based flex4, to increase its international footprint in Europe.
Financial details of the transaction has not been disclosed.
The Appleton, Wis.-based manufacturer of high-performance film and package converting equipment said April 21 that flex4 was “an established supplier of service support for all brands of pouch equipment throughout Europe.
“Establishing a centrally located European center for quick-response service is an important goal for CMD,” explained Stephen Sakai, CMD president.
The team at flex4, he added, has “extensive experience” in equipment service and technology.
Post-acquisition, flex4 will continue to service its existing customers as well as CMD pouch machinery customers, directly and through CMD agents.
The Swiss business has a special focus on pre-made pouch converting systems, with experience in key areas of industrial automation and manufacturing processes.
