DME Co. LLC, the mold components subsidiary of Milacron Holdings Corp., will invest $5 million to expand the capablities of its Greenville, Mich., manufacturing facility and create 70 new jobs.
Milacron had announced March 17 it will close a DME mold base plant in Youngwood, Pa., and consolidate its mold technology manufacturing and fabrication operations into the Greenville plant. The move, which affected 63 employees at Youngwood, was scheduled to occur in late summer, officials said at the time.
The Greenville development was approved for a $490,000 performance-based grant from the Michigan Economic Development Corp., and the City of Greenville is considering a local tax abatement to support the project, according to an April 26 news release from Blue Ash, Ohio-based Milacron.
Peter Smith, Milacron DME president and general manager, said consolidating machining operations into a single U.S. location lets the the company "target our investment funds, building a world-class facility in Greenville to support our growth plans."
