Will we have a repeat winner this year? We already know, the answer is yes. I'm not talking about the Cavs vs. Warriors series. This is something really important, the Azbee Awards of Excellence.
I mentioned in a blog back in April that Plastics News was a finalist for some Azbees, which are awarded by the American Society for Business Publication Editors (ASBPE) to honor the best editorial work in business-to-business, trade, association and professional publications.
Well, the results are in. It's good news, we won three awards on the national level.
First, our new monthly podcast won a national gold award. Congratulations to Steve Toloken and Jeremy Carroll, for Plastics News Radio. If you're in plastics and enjoy podcasts, you definitely should subscribe to this one. It's entertaining and professional, and now it's been honored as the best in the country in business journalism.
Second, our weekly Plastics News Now webcast also won a national gold. This is the three-peat, since PNN also won national gold Azbees in 2015 and 2016.
One of the broadcasts that was part of this year's entry was our fun Oct. 31 video from K 2016 in Germany. If you haven't watched it yet, get ready to laugh. I've watched it dozens of times (I helped put together the Azbee entry), and I still laugh when I watch it. This was submitted as a “staff” entry, since many people contributed to the reports that we entered. But special congratulations go to Kerri Jansen, Jeremy Carroll and Rhoda Miel. (And enjoy the cameo appearance from Bill Bregar. He's a natural.).
Finally, our 2016 K Show Dailies won a national bronze award for on-site trade show coverage. This is the eighth time that Plastics News has been honored by the ASBPE for show dailies.
