Erema expands capacity, upgrades production process in Austria

Recycling systems supplier Erema Engineering Recycling Maschinen und Anlagen GmbH has expanded its site in Ansfelden, Austria with the opening of its new assembly shop in late April. 

In addition to the capacity expansion, the Austrian company is also deploying a new production process which it says is geared towards future customer requirements. 

The new production process is expected to reduce lead times “significantly” while adding delivery reliability and quality standards. 

"The expansion of our production capacities was a logical next step due to the increased demand for our technology. In doing so we made a conscious decision to optimize the production processes at the same time," explained Manfred Hackl, CEO at Erema.

As part of the new process, each workplace has access to modern fabrication infrastructure such as scissor lifts, slewing jib cranes and a fully automatic Kanban system, Erema explained in a June 6 press release. 

Additionally, the necessary material and information processes are coordinated based on the planning of the individual workplaces in order to ensure a smooth production process with upstream and downstream departments. 

Process optimization in the production of assembly groups is the first step in an extensive evaluation of optimization opportunities along the entire production chain at Erema. 

"Our goal is to increase our competitiveness even further on an international scale,” said Hackl noting that the process optimization was part of the company's bid to optimize the entire production chain process. 

“Besides reliable recycling technology and innovative developments we are constantly committed to ultramodern production standards,” he added. 

The new layout, said Hackl, will offer a modern working environment for employees as well as bringing “efficiency and transparency in workflow even more so in future."
