CMD Corp., a maker of converting equipment based in Appleton, Wis., has won the Wisconsin Governor's Export Achievement Award for 2017.
Gov. Scott Walker presented CMD officials with the award at the Wisconsin International Trade Conference in Milwaukee. Nominees were evaluated on measurable export growth, innovation and contributions to the state's overall economy, and trade development.
“CMD is an outstanding example of how developing and executing a practive exporting strategy can be a real factor in a company's overall growth,” Walker said in a statement.
CMD designs, manufactures and services converting machinery to produce plastic bags, pouches and flexible packaging.
Since 2013, CMD has gained a 66 percent increase in its exports. In the past three years, the company has expanded sales into southern Europe, the Middle East and Central America.
CMD employs 200 people at its 126,000-square-foot, three building campus in Appleton.
