Injection molding? There's an app for that.
Mobile Specs LLC has released its mobile device app that gives injection molders instant access for more than 20,000 commercially available plastic materials.
The comprehensive information is available with just a few taps on a mobile device.
“Injection molders need to know parameters like melt flow, shrink, drying, moisture content, barrel temperature and more when setting up a machine for a new material,” said Doug Kenik, managing director of Mobile Specs. “We know that many molders still rely on outdated information published in books. Now the entire staff on the molding floor can be equipped with a tool that provides exactly the information they need, when they need it.
The app includes data from more than 100 plastics suppliers. The engineering team from Mobile Specs has carefully curated data sheet and processing information from each material supplier. Up to 25 molding parameters can be included for each material. Detailed descriptions of each plastic, along with processing notes, provide molders with lots background information about the material they are molding.
