German specialist in print finishing solutions Kurz Group, has acquired screen printing machine manufacturer Isimat GmbH, headquartered in Ellwangen, Germany, the company announced July 27.
Isimat develops and builds high-performance printing machines that are used to decorate complex shaped glass and plastic packaging.
Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Post-acquisition, Isimat will continue to conduct its business as an independent subsidiary of Kurz under the ongoing leadership of Torsten Hirschnitz.
“Isimat offers the glass and cosmetics industries unique possibilities for printing multicolored exclusive designs with high registration accuracy,” explained Ljubisa Drinic, head of business area application at Kurz.
Kurz and Isimat have been longstanding technology partners and jointly developed the patented Inline Foiling decoration process, which has now been brought to series production readiness.
Inline Foiling allows metallizations to be transferred to glass and plastic containers at high speeds.
