Husky Injection Molding Systems Ltd. will feature its Multi-Layer coinjection technology at Drinktec — marking the first time the technology will run at a trade show.
Since introducing the technology in 2015, Husky has sold more than 20 Multi-Layer systems around the world for a wide range of applications such as soft drinks, juice, sparkling water, beer, tea, dairy, food and personal care.
“What is different today, is that consumers are demanding more variety,” said John Galt, president and CEO of Husky, based in Bolton, Ontario. “They are more health conscious and are quick to respond to trends. They expect increasingly higher quality. We are evolving the way we do business to get ahead of these trends and help our customers make plastic packaging more cost-effective, more functional and more attractive.”
At Drinktec, Husky will run its Multi-Layer technology on a HyPET HPP5 integrated preform molding system, which will make a 17-gram carbonated soft drink application using a 72-cavity mold, on an 8.7-second cycle.
