Munich — Two machinery companies have agreed to team up in the PET recycling field: Krones AG and Erema Engineering Recycling und Anlagen GmbH. Officials from both companies will give out more information at Drinktec in Munich, Sept. 11-15.
Krones, based in Neutraubling, Germany, makes PET blow molding machines and turnkey filling and packaging lines. Recycling machinery producer Erema is based in Ansfelden, Austria.
The collaboration will focus on technology, plus on planning entire factories. Krones and Erema will work together as a turnkey vendor.
Krones already makes lines for the recycling process. The company's product range includes the MetaPure W hot-wash technology for PET. Erema developed its Vacuerema recycling process system which allows recycled PET to be used in new food-contact bottles.
Krones and Erema announced the partnership Aug. 23.
