St. Louis-based Baldwin Technology Co. Inc., the manufacturer of process automation equipment for packaging, film extrusion, printing and other industrial segments, has purchased the assets of PC Industries Inc., the maker of vision inspection systems.
The move expands Baldwin's capabilities in print inspection systems.
The deal closed Sept. 13, for undisclosed terms.
PC Industries, based in Gurnee, Ill., serves the printing, converting, packaging, pharmaceutical and security printing industries. Jack Wooley founded PC Industries in 1975.
PC Industries is Baldwin Technology's fourth acquisition since 2012, when it joined the BW Forsyth Partners family of companies, which is the investment arm of manufacturing and consulting firm Barry-Wehmiller. Since then, Baldwin has purchased Web Printing Controls, Air Motion Systems and Ahlbrandt Systems GmbH
Company officials said Baldwin will continue to seek add-on acquisitions, focusing on companies that manufacture process automation equipment, components and consumable products for the printing, packaging and other industries segments.
