French automotive supplier Plastic Omnium SA will sell its waste management business unit as part of its strategy to focus exclusively on its automotive operation.
The division, which covers six plans in France, Germany and Spain, generated 330 million euros ($389 million) in revenue last year, equivalent of 4 percent of the group's total revenue.
The unit also employs 1,800 people in 12 countries and has 8,000 customers.
The Plastic Omnium division recently opened an research center and customer point of service in St. Priest, France, to regularly add to its line of products and services.
The unit produces containers for households and collection sites, and offers related services including maintenance, washing and data management. It also offers urban equipment for waste disposal locations, playgrounds, parks and streets.
Plastic Omnium said it would will seek a purchaser which has ambitions to develop the business.
