Leadership shuffle at MBS to allow Minnick to focus on M&&A

Two plastics veterans at Molding Business Services have changed titles in a move that will allow founder Terry Minnick to devote more time to concentrate on mergers and acquisitions.

"I try to match the perfect seller with the perfect buyer," Minnick said in a phone interview. "I'll step back from the day-to-day running of the business and focus on growing the business."

Minnick has been appointed chairman of MBS while Jonathan Soucy becomes president, filling the role vacated by Minnick. Soucy has been a partner in MBS since he joined in 2015. Minnick founded MBS 20 years ago.

Soucy said he will try to continue the growth path for MBS as well as introduce new ideas.

Minnick told Plastics News on Oct. 4 that MBS completed its 88th M&A transaction between undisclosed partners a day earlier. Prior to that, MBS coordinated the deal in which custom molder Clarion Technologies Inc. of Grand Rapids, Mich., bought GTM Plastics Inc. of Garland, Texas.

MBS's services span M&A advisory consulting to recruitment and specialty consulting for injection molders and other plastics processors and engineered component manufacturers. Its recruiting division typically places more than 100 professionals a year with companies throughout North America.

Both Minnick and Soucy have backgrounds in plastics processing. Prior to forming MBS, Minnick was CEO and chairman of Pro Corp., a Florence, Mass., injection molder. Soucy was previously at Pixley Richards Inc. and Plainfield Precision Holdings.
