Watervliet, N.Y. — Extreme Molding LLC has purchased two all-electric Engel e-mac injection molding machines for molding liquid silicone rubber.
Extreme Molding in Watervliet needed to increase capacity in a very short time frame, so the company used Engel's Fast Lane program to buy to buy the e-mac presses, with clamping forces of 85 and 110 tons.
“We received a new contract that required an increase to our LSR capacity — and quickly,” said Lynn Momrow-Zielinski, co-owner of Extreme Molding. The processor bought the 110-ton press at the end of 2016, and the 85-tonner in spring of this year.
Extreme Molding molds parts for customers in the markets of health care, consumer products pet products, at its 21,000-square-foot factory in Watervliet, near Troy, N.Y.
Co-owner Joanne Moon Duncan said company officials like the high precision, smaller footprint and ease of the robot interface with the e-mac.
