German auto supplier Röchling Group is investing 5 million euros ($5.8 million) to expand Röchling Maywo GmbH and its production site in Bad Grönenbach, Germany.
In an Oct. 17 statement, the company said the investment will add 25 new jobs, while "decisively strengthening" Röchling Maywo's market position as a manufacturer of vacuum formed sheets and foils made from thermoplastics.
“With this investment, we are meeting the needs of strong growth. The expansion of production and the new logistics hall will enable us to react even better to our customers' requests, and will further increase our ability to deliver," said Florian Helmich, managing director of Röchling Maywo.
Construction work on the 5,000-square-metre expansion will start at the beginning of 2018.
Röchling Maywo, originally set up as Maywo Kunststoff GmbH 35 years ago, has been part of the Röchling Group since 2012.
According to the company, sales have risen 64 percent since the takeover 5 years ago.
With 120 employees, Röchling Maywo manufactures mono-layer and co-extruded sheets and foils made from polystyrene (PS) and ABS.
The materials are used to manufacture components in vacuum forming processes for a range of different applications, including vehicle construction and the electronics industry.
Röchling Maywo says its sheets and foils are used to create ceiling or wall cladding in trains and coaches.
