American Leistritz Extruder Corp. will hold its annual Twin Screw Extrusion Workshop Nov. 29-30.
Classroom sessions are held at the Holiday Inn Select in Clinton, N.J. Hands-on equipment demonstrations are at the Leistritz process laboratory at the company in Somerville, N.J. Transportation is provided to and from the demonstrations.
Topics include co-rotating and counter-rotating twin screw extrusion; high-speed, energy input (HSEI) twin screw extrusion, and a comparison to low-speed, late-fusion (LSLF) designs; screw design; dispersive and distributive mixing; sequencing of multi-stage process operations; devolatization; scale-up; feeder and material handling for pellets, powders and liquids; gear pumps and screen changers; pelletizing; direct extrusion for sheet, film, fibers and profiles; reactive processing; troubleshooting; control and monitoring options; screw assembly and disassembly; and maintenance tips.
The cost is $800, which includes handout materials, lunches and dinner on the first day.
