Royal Technologies Corp. is planning a $14 million expansion of its manufacturing facility in Cullman, Ala. The project is expected to create 25 jobs, according to an Oct. 26 news release from the Alabama Department of Commerce.
The Hudsonville, Mich.-based custom injection molder produces plastic and foam products for the automotive, furniture and consumer goods industries. Alabama officials said the 176,000-square-foot expansion will allow the company to add more injection molding lines. The project is expected to be completed in June.
Royal Technologies officials did not respond to a request for comment on the expansion.
In 2009, Plastics News reported on the company's nearly $30 million investment in the Cullman facility, which included the purchase of 26.6. acres of industrial property to build its injection molding, assembly and urethane foam production plant.
Last year, Royal Technologies built its fourth facility in Hudsonville for around $33 million. Outside of Michigan and Alabama, the company has an additional 348,000-square-foot facility in Mission, Texas, enabling Royal Technologies to better serve its customers in the Southern United States and Mexico.
