French engineering plastics company Groupe Dedienne Multiplasturgy SAS has acquired CG. Tec Injection Sarl, a France-based specialist in high-precision injection molding.
Dedienne Multiplasturgy said on Nov. 8 that the acquisition was part of its bid to develop and improve its expertise as a multi‐technology solutions provider, adding that CG. Tec was chosen because of its “advanced technological expertise.”
In recent years, CG. Tec invested in, among other things, a number of articulated 6‐axis robots, which allow flexibility for a wide range of products combined downstream operations such as automated camera inspection and orienting the part for packaging.
Dedienne Multiplasturgy expects the acquisition to improve its offerings and services to customers particularly in the field of micro-injection and the injection of “very high-precision components,” said Pierre‐Jean Leduc, President of Dedienne Multiplasturgy Group
"When our teams speak in hundredths of a millimeter, those of CG.Tec speak in microns,” added Leduc.
Post-acquisition, Denis Chouffot and Alain Germain retain their positions as president and technical development director of CG. Tec respectively. The two will oversee the development of the company, particularly of its microfluidic activities for which CG.Tec has developed “unique technologies.”
“This joining with Dedienne which will allow us to accelerate our development, including clean‐room injection activities for the medical sector as well as those of micro‐fluidics in Europe and the US, notably by maximizing synergies with the Met2Plastic subsidiary of Dedienne based in Chicago,” said Germain, who is also the co‐founder CG.Tec
CG.Tec was founded by Chouffot and Germain 20 years ago and has 47 employees split between project industrialization and injection‐molding production.
The company manufactures components out of technical polymers such as PEEK, PPS and LCP for applications in the automotive, electrical, fluidics and medical fields.
