Washington — Megan Hayes has joined the Plastics Industry Association as director of industry standards. In her new role, she will lead codes and standards activities and represent the plastics industry on national and international standards-setting committees governing machinery, product safety and other subjects.
Hayes has more than 15 years of experience in developing standards and managing their industry-wide implementation. In her most recent position, Hayes served as director of global regulatory and standards strategy for the National Electrical Manufacturers Association's medical imaging division.
Previously she was involved in developing industry standards for NEMA's lighting division, the Consumer Technology Association (formerly CEA) and the Alliance for Telecommunications Industry.
Hayes is the chair emeritus of the American National Standards Institute board of standards review and is the recipient of both the ANSI next generation award and the ANSI meritorious service award.
